Under this project, REA Support was commissioned by local Polish Company BMB, to perform 3D laser scanning as well as 3D spherical photographs on several residential locations in Germany. During the 2 day campaign, 21 scan positions have been surveyed spread out over 6 different sites. Collected data was post-processed for subsequent reverse engineering and creation of 3D panoramic tours. Dimensionally accurate information was extracted from the point cloud and used to prepare As Build Drawings and geometry checks for future design of steel structures. Due to limited access and short timeframe and the needs to have dimensionally accurate data without the needs for scaffolding access, laser scanning technology met client’s requirements in this respect. This method of dimensional survey significantly accelerated the designing process. Uploaded video below, depicts a typical walk around the colour laser scans cloud that were performed during 2 days operation in Germany.
