3773-13 PARAGON MSS1 – BALLAST AND SEAWATER SERVICE DOUBLE ISOLATION VALVES

This video familiarisation footage has been captured with the use of Rig Engineering survey tool ( A 3D laser scanning portable device) during a site visit on-board the Paragon MSS1 Semi-Submersible drilling unit, July 2015. The purpose of this site visit was to glean information for the various work scopes planned to be executed during the 2016 Out Of Service period (OOS). This video that has been created inside the point cloud shows the current arrangement of the starboard ballast piping immediately downstream of the seachest. It is planned to install a second valve between the seachest and the strainer to provide double isolation. The harnessed information can be used to overlay a 3D model of the new valve, modified pipe spools, re-position strainer & modification to the platform above, all inside the cloud. This will also allow a clash check of the modifications to be performed prior to any onsite works commencing. This video will also aid the on shore project team and their contractors during project meeting and briefings.
